Cook Top, Range Hood and Oven
Cook top (gas hob, cooker, stove top). To operate the self-igniting cook top select the desired setting by turning the knob for the hot plate you wish to use. Matches or lighters are not required. The most common issue with not igniting or not burning evenly is the gas hobs not being in alignment after cleaning. It is quite easy to realign the two pieces by simply picking them up and putting back carefully.
CAUTION: Gas hobs get very hot very quickly. Only touch them when cold.
Range Hood (kitchen hood, extraction hood). To operate the range-hood pull the range-hood out towards you. The switches for the light and fan are located under the front centre of the unit in most apartments.
CAUTION: Always use the range-hood exhaust fan when using the cook top or oven to prevent the fire alarm system being activated. Failure to do so may result in the MFB (Melbourne Metropolitan Fire Brigade) attending and additional charges may be incurred.
Oven. To operate the oven turn the temperature dial to the desired temperature and the selector dial to oven or grill, as required. The oven indicator light should come on when baking or grilling.
The user manual for the oven is attached for more information if needed.
